La varietà di percoca detta "col pizzo", originariamente coltivata nel napoletano, in particolare nell'area Flegrea, è detta così per via del suo pizzo molto accentuato. Ha frutti medio-grandi, di color giallo paglierino, polpa dolce e compatta. Caratteristica distintiva è il fatto che maturino molto tardivamente, tra settembre ed ottobre. La raccolta e la selezione vengono effettuate manualmente e con cautela, si usa addirittura disporre della paglia in campo per evitare danni ai frutti in caso di caduta prematura. Anche le percoche col pizzo, come tutte le percoche campane, oltre che fresche, vengono utilizzate per la realizzazione delle pesche sciroppate od anche a pezzi nel vino. La percoca col pizzo appartiene alla categoria delle "terzarole", dette così perché maturano tardivamente.

The variety known as "percoca col pizzo", traditionally cultivated in the Neapolitan province, in particular in the Flegrean Area, is called this way for the accentuated tip. Its fruits are medium-large, hay yellow, the pulp is sweet and solid. Their main characteristic is the tardy ripeness, between September and October. The harvest and selection are done manually and with caution, hay is laid on the ground under the trees to avoid damages to the fruits should they fall too soon. Percoche col pizzo, like almost all other Campania varieties, are eaten fresh, are used to produce peaches in syrup and are consumed also in pieces in wine. Percoca col pizzo belongs to the category of "terzarole", called this way because they mature late.
